Cummins

Cummins is coming off an impressive summer circuit which culminated in a standout performance down in Georgia at the PBR Junior Future Games. It seems that Cummins has got a couple of inches taller and also added some strength to his now 5-foot-9, 180 pound frame. Offensively, Cummins reached a max exit velocity of 87.8 mph and was conisistently able to spray line drives to the entire field. Defensively is where Cummins really shined as he was effortlessly able to move from side to side, and paired it with soft hands that make him an advanced defender up the middle. It was yet another impressive look at this young prospect and he is certianly someone our staff is excited to continue to follow as he progresses through his high school career.

Cummins is a quick twitch athlete that has registered a 7.22 time in the 60-yard dash in front of our staff, and should only improve as he continues to develop as a prospect. This athleticism is really put on display while manning either of the middle infield positions as he effortlessly ranges from side-to-side and makes even the tough plays look easy. This is something that our staff saw firsthand at the PBR Junior Future Games, where he made multiple slick defensive plays that even shocked our staff. Offensively, Cummins doesn’t try to do too much, he knows his game as a top-of-the-order type player and he sticks to it, as he is able to consistently spray balls to the entire field. Overall, Cummins is a relaxed and confident gamer type and seems to have all the makings of the next high-level middle infielder out of Wisconsin, something that the Badger State has become known for over the last few years.

Cummins is a 5-foot-9, 150 pound quick moving athlete. His short compact swing was on display in batting practice hitting low liners all over the yard. He also showed some sock to the pull side with gap power. Cummins is a reliable defender in the middle, the arm has enough carry and projects more to stick at shortstop especially since he uses his quick feet to get his momentum working to the target and a quick release with an accurate arm. A gritty gamer type who is part of the Racine Hitters fraternity of high performing shortstops. 

Compact framed athlete who is quick to top speed. Instinctual ball player, gamer, consistent quality at bats feel to get barrel to ball, spray approach to all fields. Defensively, a reliable shortstop defender with first step quickness to get to balls to both sides, short arm arm stroke, ¾  release, repeats it for accuracy. 

Cummins is a 5’8, 145lb middle infielder out of Milton. Boistering perhaps the top positional performance of the week's event, and providing an exciting look to the PBR Wisconsin evaluators. After posting a 7.38 60 yard dash as a 2026, he stepped to the box with confidence. Working from balance with a big leg kick, and a vertical barrel tip, he produced athletic swings. Cummins produces low flights consistently, and has the look of a ballplayer with feel for the game at a young age. On the defensive side, he’s skillful beyond his years with clean, well timed footwork, and ease of execution. Advanced for his age. 

5-foot-5, 130 pounds; small frame, live athleticism. At our PBR Fall 13u/14u Championship, he showed as one of the weekend’s most advanced middle infield defenders, regardless of age/class. Made several plays to his backhand at shortstop with advanced actions; also ranged up the middle for athletic reach, spin, and throw ground ball play, while on target, to get the baserunner at first. Sure-handed funnel, fluid glove-to-hand exchange, efficient throughout with above-average carry on throws that he’ll grow into as he matures. Offensively, top-of-the-order profile; right-handed hitter, balanced base with a quiet/loose pre-pitch rhythm. Loose hands generate fast bat speed; showed a willingness to use the whole field, patient approach.
