+ Brady Lauer, RHP (Germantown): Lean, athletic 5-foot-11,150-pound build with room to add strength. Athletic mover with an easy, repeatable delivery. Medium leg lift into a directional drop-and-drive move down the mound. ¾ slot with a short, quick arm. Attacked with his fastball at 81-83 mph touching 84 mph with ride and run. Maxed out at 27.3 inches of induced vertical break and 19.7 inches of horizontal break. Added a breaking ball with gyro shape at 70-72 mph with an average spin rate of 2,326 and a developing changeup at 76-78 mph. Struck out two batters over two innings.

+ RHP/INF Brady Lauer (Germantown, 2028) is an impressive two-way prospect with upside. The 5-foot-10, 149 pound athlete displayed a loose, free and easy delivery that was up to 83 mph with life out of the hand and good strikes. The curveball played out of the same window as the fastball and showed late downer type action. He also threw a change up that was thrown with fastball intent. There is considerable ceiling to Brady Lauer’s profile on the mound. With the bat, Lauer hit with a short and compact swing and produced line drive contact to all fields. Last, his infield defense was fluid with easy actions making the routine play and showing some range to both sides. Overall, it was a great look at the freshman two-way talent and remains on our staff’s radar going forward.

RHP/INF Brady Lauer (Germantown, 2028) is a high-upside prospect, with plenty more inside of his lean 5-foot-9, 135-pound frame. He swings a simple bat from the right side, with a loose and easy operation overall that sprayed line drives to all parts of the field. Defensively, he possesses active feet, with soft and confident hands, pairing it with a loose arm that was accurate to the bag. His upside seems to be higher on the mound, where he repeats his simple delivery. As for his repertoire, he ran his fastball up to 77.1 mph, with some intriguing pitch metrics to it. He showed feel for a curveball in the upper-60s, while also fading in a changeup that was also in the upper-60s.
