1/31/26

1B Everett Lucero (Westosha Central, 2027) was one of the biggest winners of the day on Saturday. Lucero possesses an imposing frame at 6-foot-1, 219 pounds with a strong lower and upper half. Lucero was producing some impressive exit velocities throughout his round of batting practice. His max exit velocity number of 98.9 mph and average exit velocity of 95.1 mph were both event bests. The 95.1 mph mark indicates that every ball he hit was well struck throughout the round. The bat plays and so does the first base defense. Lucero continued to display an acumen for the first base position. He can turn the 3-6-3 double play and has soft hands fielding ground balls and receiving throws. It was another standout performance from the Westosha Central junior.

1B Everett Lucero (Westosha Central, 2027) had one of the best standout performances of the day. Lucero displayed impressive bat speed during batting practice from a short and compact swing. Lucero juiced multiple balls through both gaps and consistently showcased feel for the barrel. His max exit velocity of 96 mph was an event best. Lucero’s first base defense was equally impressive. He showcased soft hands and athletic feet around the bag. Lucero was a name that popped up last year in Westosha’s run at state and will continue to be a name our staff monitors going forward.
