+ INF/RHP Jacob Madlung (Arrowhead, 2028) took a big step forward in just a few months' time. On the mound, the talented freshman’s velocity jumped from 80 mph to 84 mph since October. Madlung’s secondary offerings showed well to complement the fastball. The curveball was 69-72 mph with hard late bite and 10/4 shape. He also showcased feel for a change up at 75-76 mph that dies at the plate. With the bat, the two-way athlete produced a max EV of 94 mph which is 10 mph harder than his mark in October (84 mph). He featured a balanced swing with whippy bat speed and a tight hand path to and through the baseball. He was smooth and fluid during infield work and showed indicators that he will be able to stick on the left side of the dirt long term. At 6-foot-3, 187 pounds, with long levers and a well-proportioned build, Madlung has considerable upside and is poised to take steps in the near future as he fills out.

He consistently barrelled up balls with a well sequenced swing using the ground well and delivering the barrel of the bat consistently through the ball. His quality work in the infield stood out with his ability to range to both sides and work fluidly through the routine play. On the mound, he showcased a smooth delivery that he repeated consistently paired with a whippy and athletic arm action from a low slot, driving the fastball through areas of the zone. He topped out at 80 mph and paired that with two different breaking balls and a feel for a change up.
