From the left-handed batter's box, a wide balanced setup with a controlled load, flat bat path that generates consistent barrel contact to all fields. Defensively, he exhibits sound middle infield actions, staying behind the ball with a steady two-hand gather and a shuffle step to target. On the mound, Sell utilizes a stretch-only delivery with a loose, high 3/4 arm action. His fastball sat 79-80 mph with clean 4-seam characteristics out of the hand. He complemented it with a 68-69 mph curveball that had some sweep, and a 70-71 mph changeup featuring 20.3 inches of horizontal break with heavy fading action while maintaining arm speed.
