This was my second time seeing Blair this season, with my first look being his season debut after coming off another strong basketball season for De La Salle. The two-sport Oklahoma commit looks to be fully in baseball mode, putting together 4 QAB on the day out of the cleanup spot for De La Salle. After opening his day with back-to-back BB’s on nine pitches, Blair would smoke a full count FB back up the middle for a base hit, showcasing great plate discipline across the AB. Blair’s day would end with another hard-hit single up the middle, this time on a 2-0 FB up, before being PH for in the top of the 6th. With a strong front side present, the senior showcases plus bat speed with a compact swing that stays through the zone well and projects for power. After DHing in my first look, Blair got the start in CF, where he looks to be sound defensively. Paired with solid speed, Blair displays good range in CF, with several good first steps and overall reads on the ball. An athletic presence on both sides of the ball, Blair has the potential to play the position at the next level.

It was my first look at the Oklahoma Commit, who went up against a LHP with armside run and a deceiving release.  Blair is a tall LHH, as he stands at 6' 5" and moves well in his big frame. He is athletic in the OF as he is able to track fly balls and throw with accuracy to his infield. Blair had a 3 hit day driving in 2 runs. His approach vs LHP was outstanding as he let the baseball travel deep looking to go the other way. He doesn’t get big in his swings as he stays short to the baseball, consistently getting on top with strong hands and quick hip rotation. His final hit came against a RHP and he displayed his quick hands/rotation to drive a hit up the middle. Blair knows how to use his big frame to stay short to the baseball while having consistent swings with a good approach. He does  a great job staying on his backside as long as he can, not getting too big. His offensive profile shows consistency with barreling bases and spraying the ball around the field. Through 6 GP the Sr is hitting with a .647 AVG, 2 HR, and a .714 OBP.
