Gunn got the start and turned in a quality outing, tossing 4 strong innings while striking out 5. He had a clean, repeatable delivery and commanded a true three-pitch mix that kept hitters guessing throughout his outing. The FB sat 81-83 mph with noticeable arm-side sink, especially when located arm-side against RHHs. It drew a heavy whiff rate and consistently stayed off barrels. Gunn worked both sides of the plate effectively, mixing in a 68-72 mph CB with solid shape and a CH at 76 mph that he used to disrupt timing. He showed confidence in all three pitches and wasn’t afraid to throw any of them in any count. What stood out most was his ability to sequence and pitch with intent. He controlled tempo and never looked rushed, even when working out of the stretch. The ball comes out of a loose arm slot with a high-3/4 release, and while there’s still physical projection left, Gunn already flashes the feel and pitchability to be a real weapon right now for Patrick Henry. On the year, Gunn now owns a 2.45 ERA over 25.2 innings, striking out 35 along the way.
