This was my second look at Leuck and I continue to like what I see. The 2-sport athlete showed why he’s the main bat in Mt. Carmel’s lineup, delivering two hard-hit balls to the opposite field, including a double off the right-center field wall. His big frame at 6-4, 195 lbs, and raw power make him a constant threat at the plate, and he continues to show the ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields. His approach is what has given him consistent success in the box, as he stays in the hitting zone well, gets strong extension through contact, and doesn’t try to do too much—allowing his natural strength to play. As Leuck goes, so do the Sundevils, and his track record speaks for itself. Last season, he hit .340 as a sophomore, racking up 3 home runs, 17 RBIs, 4 doubles, and 2 triples while proving to be both a run producer and a reliable presence in the middle of the order. He has already built a reputation as a hitter who can change the game with one swing, whether it’s by driving in key runs or sparking momentum with an extra-base hit. His combination of size, bat speed, and ability to use the entire field makes him a dangerous hitter every time he steps in the box. If his performance so far is any indication, he’s primed for another big season as the leader of the Sundevils' offense.
