The Georgia commit and All-American alum opened region play with an electric showing. Struck out 12 with only 2-hits across 5.1 IP of 0 ER. A dynamic mover and stands an imposing 6-foot-4, 218-pounds with immense pitchability. Loose arm stroke with excellent ability to repeat well from a ¾ slot and strikes with all three. Armed with a bulldog mentality on the bump, Sharman works up-tempo and controls the pace while attacking with intent. Fastball sat 90-92 (T93) with heavy arm-side run. Changeup flashed plus with ability to tunnel extremely well off the fastball at 81-82 with diving action and tumble. Went R/R at will and was a weapon in-the-zone for heavy swing-and-miss with confidence in any count. Innate feel to spin the slider at 78-81 with sharp movement and manipulates shape. Sharman showed well in the box as well as he laces a standup double into the LCF gap with 2-strikes. The RHH creates excellent separation with fast hands and feel to change barrel plane in-zone as he works from a compact path. Sharman yields immense two-way impact as he looks to pace Etowah to a 6A state title and hear his name called in July.
The Georgia commit and Prep Baseball All-American continued his dominance at Battle For Bartow. On the bump, Sharman showed another impressive look in a brief, efficient outing while he struck out 5. Fastball showed ride through the zone and lived 90-93 with a handful of 94s. Slider spun over at 79-84 with the feel to land at will. As well as working in the changeup at 81-83. The 1B would also get it done at the plate Thursday evening as well. Collecting a pair of smoked base-hits in a strong all-around effort. Sharman would fire one backside off the bat at 102.8 in his first at-bat for a base-hit. He would then follow it up with a ringing 2-run Home-Run to CF at 101 EV, 406 FT. There is huge strength in the frame with advanced barrel skills within an all-fields approach. As well as staying extremely well-leveraged through the zone with massive impact in the barrel. Sharman continues to trend up as a household 2026 name nationally.
Georgia Commit. Sharman added another dominant outing to an impressive Sophomore season to this point. Matthew went complete game shutout in the class 6A Elite 8 against Tift County. Sharman was in control the whole game keeping hitters guessing with his 3 pitch mix and racking up double digit strikeouts. The FB was up to 91 while sitting 87-89 most of the outing. Sharman was able to grab 91 a couple times in the 7th. Sharman was able to throw off speed pitches in hitters counts and getting whiffs out of the zone. This physical RHH has been impressive up to this point and will look to help lead Etowah to a State Championship.
The top two-way player in the 2026 class continues to look polished beyond his years with a sky-high ceiling to match. It starts with the operation on the mound where Sharman shows advanced body control while getting downhill with plus extension. Fastball up to 92 in this outing, living 88-91 over a strong 6.0 IP. Shows command to land to both sides of the plate paired with sharp arm-side run for in-zone misses. Mixed in a pair of breaking balls in this outing with a curveball at 75-77 with depth that worked well on the inner half to right-handed hitters and high-70s sweeper that created swing and miss to both sides. Changeup is a budding above-average pitch out of the same fastball tunnel at 79-81 with arm-side fade and depth. The sophomore picked up more barrels at the plate as well coming through with multiple big hits for the Eagles over the week. Present bat speed and feel for the barrel in an advanced approach allows the Georgia commit to find loud contact in the zone regularly. Sharman will be a nation-wide name as he develops into one of the most well-rounded players in the class.
In one of the better two-way showings of the weekend, Sharman was electric for Etowah in the midst of their 3-0 showing. Batting cleanup throughout, the Georgia commit was all over the barrel consistently in an all-fields approach. Sharman does an excellent job staying balanced and matching plane with a compact right-handed stroke that boasts present above-average bat speed and barrel feel. The sophomore came through with RBI knocks to both the pull-side and backside on the weekend. On the other side, Sharman came in relief on the mound in a big matchup against Walton, and may have been even more impressive. With an attacking demeanor, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-hander filled up the zone with both strikes and in-zone misses from a three-pitch mix. Fastball lived 88-91 while grabbing 92 twice with excellent carry through the zone. Mid-to-high 70s slider creates good tilt and horizontal movement for whiffs. Changeup flashed as an above-average pitch with great arm-side fade that was devastating to left-handed hitters at 78-80. It was a standout performance for Sharman overall.
