The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culmination of all players that were not selected for player of the week.

Monday

Dean Livingston, RHP, 2025, Hebron Christian
Livingston has been a hot name throughout the spring as he garnered some big-time MLB Draft interest as well solidifying himself as one of the top RHP in the state. Monday was another quality showing for the Georgia commit as he held a solid Franklin County team to just two backside singles in a 5.0 IP CGSHO. Fastball was electric early for Livingston, running it up to 97 multiple times while living 93-95 in the first couple innings while settling in at 91-93 late with consistent sink and run. Curveball was the go-to in any count for the former future gamer at 75-79 with 12/6 shape and ability to land in the zone at will. Froze multiple bats in 2k counts to get out of a couple big jams. There’s potential for an above-average pitch quickly. Livingston would also show the firm slider at 84-86 that plays extremely well when commanded low in the zone with some late sweep that creates swing-and-miss. Didn't need the changeup in the outing but flashed some in the low-80s in warm-ups. There’s been some real two-way production for Livingston this spring as well, hitting .429 currently with 7 HR and came through with another three-hit showing in this one. The attention will remain hot as the Lions look to make a run in the playoffs with Livingston leading the pack.

Tuesday 

Mason Archie, OF, 2025, Brookwood
On the day of his commitment to Young Harris, Archie would show extremely well at the plate. With two smoked base-hits and a HBP. The RHH would drive one to the backside for a double in the Top of the 1st off of a strong arm. He would then follow it up in the 7th with a laced single through the pull-side. Archie stays extremely compact with quick and direct hands to the ball and maintains excellent balances throughout with great use of the whole field. The bat speed and barrel feel always shows up for the senior as he consistently performs in-game.

 A.J. Rice, RHP/SS, 2026, Pickens
It’s been a video-game esque spring campaign for the 2024 Future Gamer, and Auburn commit had it working again on Tuesday in a huge region win. Rice would notch his 8th outing this spring with at least 8 strikeouts in the win, allowing just 1 earned across 6.0 IP. Fastball lived 88-91 throughout, running it up to 92 three times and touching 91 multiple times in the 6th. Boasts impressive arm speed with life out of the hand and heavy arm-side run. Can elevate for whiffs whenever he wants with command of the outer half as well. Slider continues to flash as a future plus offering at 76-80 with immense feel that shows in many ways. Advanced ability to manipulate at will, adding and subtracting sweep to generate both chase and IZMs. Feel to spin is equally impressive, hovering around 2800-3000 RPM. Checks many boxes already for an elite prep breaking ball (See Reid Worley) and continues to get better. Rice would show the changeup sparingly, showing some good arm-side run in the low-80s. Not to mention, Rice has been the one of the leading bats for the Dragons this spring, hitting over .400 with double-digit 2B and would add his first HR of the spring on Tuesday with a leadoff blast to dead CF. A special all-around performance to close a monster junior regular season.
