C Charlie Meister (Hersey), who is also a talented football prospect, stood out during the catcher workout. Meister took one, if not the best, rounds of defense behind the plate on the entire day; working with a quick/clean transfer and active footwork that stays in-line with second, he regularly recorded pop-times under 2.00 seconds with a max catcher velocity of 79 mph. Meister also wields a strong right-handed bat with a heavy barrel and lift through the zone, resulting in hard gap-to-gap contact. Meister registered a 93.8 max exit velocity off the bat.

Hit: RHH. Stock setup, calm and balanced in the box, short stride. Strong hands, powerful, heavy barrel, lift through the zone and worked to both gaps.

Meister, in particular, averaged an exit speed of 91.1 mph which trailed just two other hitters, and his 80 percent hard-hit rate was in a similarly impressive tier of talent.

Started on the mound for Lake County Lightning in game one of the PBR at The Rock Championships against Ecompass Expos. Drop/drive type delivery, athletic stack at balance point, high hip prior to riding the slope downhill. Strong front side with level shoulders, stays directly in line to target, repeats well in rhythm with a controlled finish through release. Internal confidence on the mound; trusts his stuff. Short arm window, high ¾ slot. Worked three innings, where his fastball sat 77-81, T82 mph, some downhill action, works corners and lower quadrant of the zone. Curveball flashed sharp spin off an 11/5 plane at 69-72 mph, thrown for strikes. Ability defensively to play all over the field but looked most natural behind the plate where he is ultra quick and athletic out of the chute, for his age. Meister showed a plus arm with an in-game pop time of 2.08 on a caught stealing. Meister, a right-handed hitter, doubled twice in game two of the day.
