Quickly establishing himself as one of the top bats in the freshman class. Loose, athletic and strong hands for his age; manipulates the barrel, covers the whole plate and uses the whole field. Name to follow closely in the coming years.

C Chase Estrada (New Trier, 2029) is a must-know backstop coming through the prep ranks. 6-foot, 192-pound frame, some present strength with room to continue to add quality muscle and size throughout the years. Took one of the more impressive rounds of the day - from a wide base he starts open and works back to even with a longer stride, creating separation in the hands that allows him to create bat-speed and whip through the zone. He was on the barrel for the majority of his round with pull-side results and some lifted contact, peaking at 95 mph while averaging 88 mph (T358’) - also averaging 76 mph for his bat-speed (T82.3 mph). Clean round of defense from behind the plate, worked down to a 1.98 for his pop-time, steady actions, clean transfers with sufficient arm-strength (T76 mph). High-follow right-handed bat with real power potential in the coming years.
Estrada, a strong 6-foot, 165-pound frame, showed well during his first game of the weekend Friday afternoon. The righty went 1-for-3 with a line drive single pull-side and a loud fly out to center field. In the box, he’s set up with confidence, with a wide set stance and small toe touch, sitting deep into his lower half. The barrel is able to stay through the zone with compact, quick hands. Eastrada also made an appearance on the mound, showing a two-pitch mix. With the fastball up to 77 mph and the curveball sitting 64-66 mph. It’s a quick short-arm movement, with the curveball able to generate off-balanced swings.
