RHP/INF Colton Carli (Providence Catholic, 2027) showed athletic and quick actions on the mound with a full arm circle that produced a fastball at 88-89 mph, topping out at 89.7 mph. He showed feel at times for a quality change-up in the mid-70s that played with sinking action, and a curveball that sat 72-75 mph with 11/5 shape, landing it in and around the bottom part of the zone. There’s strength and athleticism in his 5-foot-9, 169-pound frame, and he’s an arm to monitor this spring. Carli also showed advanced, confident actions on the infield, with the necessary tools to stick up the middle at the next level.
INF Colton Carli (Providence Catholic, 2027) is a name to know thanks to his purposeful round of BP. The right-handed hitter showed a polished approach and clear effort to work the middle of the field throughout his round, staying through the zone a long time with his path and remaining on time. He’s an athletic mover on the infield with smooth hands, moving laterally with ease and displaying clean transfers. He has a quality arm across the diamond from a high ¾ window, reaching up to 82 mph.
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-9, 155 pounds. Lean, high-waisted frame with room for added strength.
Hit: RHH. Standard setup, loose hands, short stride. Quick swing, direct with uphill tendencies, worked through middle with purpose. 64.5 mph bat speed with 13g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 mph max exit velocity (80.9 avg.); 309-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 82 mph. High 3/4 release.
Defense: Athletic mover, ranges well and plays with body control. Smooth hands on the move, flashed a quick release.
Athletic Testing: 7.21 runner in the 60-yard dash; 19.80-inch max vertical jump.
