Uncommitted, 5-foot-10, 185-pound, right-handed pitcher. Showed interesting stuff out of the bullpen for the Caravan. Rotational delivery, stays closed off down the mound and short, quick arm action. Fastball sat 86-87 mph early on his stint to go along with a 72-74 mph curveball with 11/5 shape. Intriguing first outing of the year for the uncommitted junior.
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 5-10, 185-pounds.
Delivery: Athletic mover down the mound, controlled leg-lift into a stride that works in-line to the plate, front foot lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Athletic arm action, high 3/4 slot, arm moves well.
FB: T85.3, 83.9-85.0 mph. Four seam, mostly straight, occasional sink. T2025, 1944 average rpm.
CB: 70.7-72.2 mph. 11/5 shape, showed feel, short tight action, occasionally late. T2226, 2044 average rpm.
CH: 72.9-76.3 mph. Creates fading action. T1873, 1622 average rpm.
Positional Profile: 2B
Hit: RHH. Wide setup, quiet load and toe-tap stride. Easy, on balance swing, highly-repeatable, bat stays on plane, feel for the barrel and a lot of hard gap-to-gap contact.
Power: 91.2 max exit velocity, averaged 83.9 mph. 316’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Short out of the glove into a 3/4 slot, life out of the hand with carry.
Defense: Clean footwork, clean exchange, soft hands.
Run: 7.29 runner in the 60.
RHP/INF Denny Furlong (Mount Carmel, 2023) showed some athletic action on the mound, he moves well and showed solid feel for his repertoire that included a 84-85 mph fastball, 71-72 mph 11/5 curveball, 73-76 mph fading changeup. Furlong also showed equally as well as a position player, running a 7.29 60, topping at 81 mph across the infield with an easy right-handed swing that stayed on balance and controlled through his finish. It is a highly-repeatable swing working on-plane at times with a lot of hard contact to both gaps.
