1B Griffin Kelly (Buffalo Grove, 2025) showed off some juice from his left-handed bat, both in BP and in gameplay. In his workout, the left-handed hitter reached up to 90.1 mph for his max exit velocity with a max distance of 344’. Relaxed setup with a calm demeanor in the box, fluid load that works into a flat path. Used the whole field in-game, delivering two hard line-drives to the opposite field as well as nearly leaving the yard to his pull-side for a stand-up double.

Hit: LHH. Narrow, slightly open, relaxed setup. Easy swing, strong hands, natural lift, and finishes on balance. 64.1 mph bat speed with 7 G’s of rotational acceleration.

Arm: LH. INF - 76 mph. Long, quick out front, 3/4 slot.

5-foot-11, 183-pound frame. Kelly was able to pick up a couple of hits Saturday showcasing his ability to drive the ball into the gaps. Kelly showed off great barrel control and was able to get a hold of pitches in every part of the zone. Kelly has a short stride and utilizes his lower half for power.
An athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 183-pounds. Swings heavy, displayed quick hands through the zone. Showcased strong power at the plate, roping a double down the left field line. Also showed a quality approach at the plate in his last at-bat where he had two strikes and waited back on a slider to hit it the other way. Final Line: 2-for-3, 2B.

Kelly, a 5-foot-11, 183-pound rising sophomore, showed one of the strongest left-handed bats in attendance with his 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, he has loose/strong hands through the zone that stay flat through contact, staying on the barrel up the middle and to the opposite field throughout his round while showing some pop off his bat. He also moves well around the bag at first-base, showing fluid footwork and soft/reliable hands. On the mound, the southpaw ran his fastball up to 77 mph while also showing some feel for a tight 1/7 breaking ball and sinking changeup.
