INF Julian Ashley-Friedman (Barrington, 2025) is a physical 6-foot, 183-pound uncommitted middle infielder to know from Team Midwest. Currently ranked No. 61 in the state, Ashley-Friedman’s tools were on display all week down at LakePoint. Starting on the workout day, he ran a 6.95 60, reached a max vertical of 34”, and also tossed an 89 mph bullet across the infield. The right-handed hitter also had a loud showing during batting practice at the event - posting a 96.5 mph exit velocity (avg. 91.1), while also reaching a max distance of 333 feet. Ashley-Friedman also showed to have some of the quicker hands on average for the event at 24.1 mph. His power translated in-game as well, blasting a home run, among other extra-base hits during gameplay. Ashley-Friedman is certainly an uncommitted senior to monitor as we exit the summer circuit.
Standing at an athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame, Ashley-Friedman stayed hot over the weekend, continuing to showcase his pull-side power at the plate. The righty showcased his quick swing in multiple looks this weekend, including on Saturday where he doubled down the left field line to plate two runs. He finished the day with a 2-for-2 line and four RBIs, illustrating his successful weekend, as he wasn’t retired at all on Friday as well. Ashley-Friedman’s consistent performances raised his stock as a prospect this weekend, as he’s currently ranked No. 62 in Illinois 2025 list.
MIF Julian Ashley-Friedman (Barrington, 2025) is another prospect who stood out throughout the summer, this Scout Day being one of them. The 6-foot, 180-pound, right-handed hitting middle infielder has more to come in his frame and entire game. The 7.13 runner has proven this summer to be a steady, sound baseball player who takes quality at-bats and has a knack for the barrel in game. He showed much of the same in this BP session showing strong hands, compact swing, bat speed (T81.6 mph, third best at the event) was consistently on time and driving balls to the pull-side gap. Defensively, he is fundamentally sound up the middle with quality, early glove presentation, soft hands and clean footwork. His arm is plenty strong for the left-side topping at 88 mph. On the rise 2025 who can stick on the infield.
INF Julian Ashley-Friedman (Barrington, 2025). The 6-foot, 165-pound, well-proportioned infielder has quick feet and hands while playing with advanced rhythm and tempo. Friedman plays low to the ground with a bounce in his step and confident, soft hands while his arm topped at 79 mph across the infield. The right-handed hitter sits in a wide, quiet setup and lets the ball travel. Friedman has loose, easy hands with natural lift through the zone. One of the top 2025s in attendance.
