Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame, lean and trim build with room to add strength. Started in center and hit out of the leadoff spot for the Mustangs, finishing the day 2-for-4. The left-handed hitter showed a smooth, clean swing with a whole field approach, taking a pitch on the outer-half the other way for a single in his second at-bat - also lining out hard to right field later on and singling up the middle in his last at-bat. Scrappy, competitive at-bats that sits perfectly at the top of a lineup. Athletic defender in center with athletic movement patterns, quick first step with athletic hips.
Potter, presenting a lean 5-foot-8, 145-pound frame, produced multiple hard contact at-bats in Longshots’ 11-11 tie play-in game Saturday morning. Going 1-for-3 with a triple to deep left-center field, batting from the left side, and generating apparent backspin at the point of contact. Mechanically, provided an open stance, big but controlled leg kick, in-line stride with balance, and a strong top hand. With virtually no load, a lot of the power was initiated by forearm strength and back leg drive throughout the swing. An overall positive showing with room for further development.
