Tall setup, minimal movement pre-pitch, uses a short striding motion to start his swing. Athletic, loose swing on a level plane, uses the whole field. Atkins picked up two hits in the game, attacking a 3-1 fastball during his first at-bat for a single up the middle. The third at-bat, shot the ball the other way for a single. Currently slotted at No. 68 in the state, the right-handed hitter displayed loose hands with a flat path, making a clear effort to work the ball on a line and stay on top of the baseball. He was on the barrel throughout his round, averaging 85.9 mph for his EV with a max of 93.6 mph. He’s an above-average athlete, recording a 7.01 in the 60 to pair with an impressive 34.3” vertical jump. Athletic mover in the outfield with fluid footwork and steady hands, topped out at 82 mph from a crow hop.

Atkins was on base all three times today for Top Tier. Batting out of the two-hole, he collected two hits and a walk, including a triple. Atkins played left field for Top Tier today and is a bat to keep an eye on moving forward this weekend.
