An athletic, 5-foot-9, 170-pound frame, Brezak was dominant on the mound Saturday morning. The lefty tossed seven scoreless innings allowing two hits and three walks, while striking out six. On the mound, Brezak works extremely quick throwing from a side-arm slot with clean quick-arm action. His fastball was sitting 76-79 mph and the slider was 71-73 mph. The fastball paired well with a hard gyro slider that was able to generate multiple whiffs. He also worked out of a lead-off double showing composer on the mound. The lefty was able to command and dominate in the zone allowing him to get quick easy outs.
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-8, 140-pounds. Athletic build, some strength throughout, room to add.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, slightly crouched setup. Long path, level through the zone at times, middle of the field approach.
Power: 74 max exit velocity, averaged 65 mph. 229’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 77 mph. Short and loose arm action, operates from a low 3/4 release point.
Defense: Active feet, plays through the ball with intent. Sure handed, glove plays deep with a clean transfer.
Run: 8.10 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Rocker step into high leg kick, drop and drive lower half.
Arm Action: LH. Short draw, 3/4 slot.
FB: T73, 71-73 mph. Sinking action, feel for the zone, some cut. T2281, 2150 average rpm.
CB: 63-65 mph. 11/5 shape, sharp break, feel for the armside. T2163, 2077 average rpm.
SL: 65-67 mph. Sweeping action. T2227, 2182 average rpm.
CH: 69-71 mph. Similar shape as the fastball, maintains armspeed and slot. T1826, 1775 average rpm.
