RHP Nick Baffa (Notre Dame College Prep, 2024; Valparaiso commit), former Future Games participant back in 2022. The 6-foot-1, 155-pound right-hander worked his fastball in the 83-86 mph range, playing with some life out of the hand and through the zone. To pair off the fastball, he went to a low-70s breaking ball with sharp 11/5 action. Clean and athletic operation, repeats and also looks to have more in the tank.

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 76 in Illinois. Former Team Illinois Future Games participant on the mound. 6-foot-1, 155-pound lean, loose-bodied frame. Got the start at third base and showed well as a position player against Marist. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 with a walk and runs scored. He drove a ground ball through the left-side of the infield for his lone hit on the day. Wide and spread out in the box with a short, quick stride and gets the foot down early. Stays loose and level through the zone with extension through contact. Defensively, didn’t get any ground balls during the game but took a clean I/O in the pregame with natural, fluid infield actions.
RHP Nick Baffa (Niles Notre Dame) is an athletic, upside arm that toed the rubber for Team Illinois at last summer’s Future Games and remains on the market. The 6-foot-1, 155-pound loose-levered junior still has plenty of upside in the frame and velocity to tap into down the road thanks to a loose, free-flowing athletic arm action. Baffa pounds the strike zone with a fastball that topped at 88.1 mph, landing in the zone 83% of the time. He also shows above-average feel for his 68-70 mph curveball (75% strikes) and late fading changeup. Athletic uncommitted arm to keep tabs on moving forward.
