Roberts, an Indiana State commit, threw a no-hitter for the Warriors against Batavia in a 3-0 win on Thursday. The right-hander struck out 11 and walked just one. He needed only 77 pitches to complete the game with 54 pitches being strikes. He has not given up a hit in his last 12 innings of work and still has yet to give up a run on the season.
The Indiana State commit was one of the more dominant players in the state last spring, earning Second-Team All-State honors after he hit .455 with nine doubles, three triples, four home runs, 31 RBIs, 26 runs scored and 20 walks. On the mound, Roberts fired 50.1 innings with a 9-0 record, 66 strikeouts, a 1.25 ERA and 0.80 WHIP.
Verbally committed to Indiana State.
INF/RHP Owen Roberts (Waubonsie Valley), who is coming off a highly-impressive spring season where he earned Prep Baseball Second Team All-State honors, had a strong showing on both sides of the ball at this year’s event. Standing in an athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with lean strength throughout, Roberts showed well in his two-inning stint, striking out two, allowing one run and one hit. He’s a clean mover on the mound with a quick arm, showing a fastball that sat 89-90 mph, topping out at 90.9 mph with clear ride through the zone. He spun the curveball well, averaging 2448 rpm in the 78-81 mph range, and showed feel for a low-80s breaking ball as well. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had multiple quality barrels, including a double to deep center field, recording a 4.58 run time on the turn. A 6.96 runner, Roberts produced a max exit velocity of 95.5 mph (90 mph avg.), a 70.2 mph average bat speed, and an 89 mph infield velocity. A must-know uncommitted 2025.

Hit: RHH. Taller stance, medium stride, medium/high leg kick. Short, direct swing, loose hands, slightly uphill path, on the barrel throughout the round. 64.9 mph bat speed with 11 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 90 mph. 317’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 89 mph. 3/4 slot, quick/fluid action.
Defense: Fluid footwork that gets around the ball, pre-pitch hop, steady hands that work out front, clean transfer.
Run: 7.09 runner in the 60.
INF/RHP Owen Roberts (Waubonsie Valley, 2025) is an uncommitted two-way to know from the event. Listed at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds, Roberts has a loose and balanced swing, looking to keep the ball on a line with extension through the zone, reaching up to 97.9 mph for his max EV with impressive hand-speed (22.5 mph avg.) and bat-speed (75 mph avg.). He’s an above-average athlete, running to a 6.96 in the 60, easily translating to the infield where he has a quick first step with easy range to pair with steady hands. He displayed a strong arm across the diamond, topping out at 85 mph. His arm-strength easily translated over to the mound, where he displayed quality feel over his three-pitch mix. His fastball topped out at 88 mph with over 2300 rpm at times, playing with carry and run. He also went to a low-70s slider (2300+ rpm) and slight running changeup at 72-74 mph to round out his repertoire.
