Augustana College commit. Ranked No. 214 in the state’s senior class. Started in centerfield and batted second. Paced the Ironmen offense going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Simple right-handed swing at the plate with a small leg lift and load, hands stay direct to the ball with a flat bat path through the zone. Athletic defender in the outfield with quality speed that allowed him to chase down balls, showed an above-average arm.

Hit: RHH. Wide setup, no stride, repeats. Direct, easy, quick hands, line drive contact to all fields. 64.6 mph bat speed with 15 G’s of rotational acceleration.

Arm: RH. OF - 86 mph. Long, loose, high 3/4 slot. Defense: Two hand gather, attacks the ball and plays through.

A standout during the IHSA season to our staff, and earning a mention within the Week 8 Scout Blog, OF Riley Hendren (Normal Community, 2024) has athleticism and projection attached to a 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Hendren ran a 6.79 60, reaching a peak speed of 20.3 mph with a 1.66 10-yard split. He showed athletic hands and a short swing that stayed on plane (80%) regularly in BP while spraying line drives to all fields. Hendren plays with pace in the outfield too, and his firmest bullet peaked at 84 mph to home.

Uncommitted. Stands at an athletic and strong 5-foot-11, 150-pounds. Played center field and batted in the leadoff spot. Finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk and three stolen bases. Took quality at-bats throughout the game and showed to be a tough out at the plate. Showed speed and athleticism on the base paths and athletic actions in the outfield with a quality arm.
