+ Talon Thompson, C (Routt Catholic High School, 2026): Uncommitted. Thompson went 5-for-10 throughout the week, allowing three doubles, six RBIs, two walks and one run scored. His best game came against Centennial, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
INF Luke Martin (Mt. Pulaski), INF Drew Phelps (Moline) and C Talon Thompson (Routt Catholic) are a trio of 2026 bats to keep tabs on as they progress through high school. Martin especially has added strength throughout his frame since our last look and the ball was jumping off the barrel throughout hsi round of BP. Martin has strong hands and swings with controlled aggression with his hardest ball leaving the bat at 90.6 mph and a furthest batted ball of 305’.

Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, minimal load and long stride. Fluid swing, controlled aggression, uphill path, loose athletic hands and lifted approach.

Arm: RH. C - 72 mph. Arm stabs at draw, operates with short action. Works into a high 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: 2.20-2.34 pop times. Dependable glove with a clean transfer. Remains low through his release, feet replace one another.
Run: 7.29 runner in the 60.

Hit: LHH. Narrow, crouched base, more weight on the back knee, minimal hand load. Long and uphill bat path.
Power: 77 max exit velocity, averaged 72.8 mph. 259’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 71 mph. Short to the ear, over-the-top slot.
Defense: 2.35-2.43 pop times. Steady receiver of the baseball, clean/deliberate transfer, feet work in-line with second on throws.
Run: 7.56 runner in the 60.
