Heartland CC signee. Ranked No. 123 in the state’s senior class. Brief, but quality look, threw one inning in relief, struck out one and walked one. Quality frame with athleticism at 6-foot-5, 210-pounds. Athletic delivery with a loose and quick arm, Spangler’s fastball sat 85-88 mph with 2300 rpm. He showed a breaking ball that sat 74-76 mph with tight, sharp action, producing spin rates in the 2400-2500 range.

RHP Tanner Spangler (Morton, 2024) is an uncommitted arm-to-know within the state. Listed at 6-foot-5, 210-pounds, the big right-hander worked his fastball in the 82-85 mph range and paired off a high-spinning breaking ball (2200-2500 RPM), 71-75 mph. He also went to an upper-70s changeup, thrown with fastball arm-speed.
RHP Tanner Spangler (Morton, 2024) is listed at a athletic 6-foot-4, 210-pounds with room to add mass onto and he made for a good look during our time in Peoria. Out of a simple and repeatable delivery, Spangler ran his fastball up to 88.1 mph, which was an event high, and this is a pitch that plays with carry, maxing at 19.5’ of induced vertical break. As for his offspeeds, he featured two different breaking balls, the first being a short wrinkle slider that averaged 2,382 rpm and the second being a 11/5 curveball that he was able to spin at 2,470 rpm on average. He rounded out his four-pitch mix with a changeup that flashed some hard running action through the zone.
