Continuing to improve with each watch is RHP/OF Wilson Wemhoff (2025, Hampshire). Currently ranked No. 92 in the state, Wemhoff remains one of the top uncommitted arms in the class for Illinois. Standing in at 5-foot-10, 185-pounds with a thick lower half, Wemhoff displayed comfortability throwing all five of his pitches on Saturday. His four-seam had some explosiveness to it out of the hand topping out at 88 mph, while his two-seam worked with occasional arm-side run. Wemhoff also showed a third variation of the fastball, throwing a cutter with occasional depth at 80-81 mph with true feel for the pitch. He showed confidence in two different off-speed pitches as well, throwing a 10/4-shaped slider that played consistently at the bottom of the zone with advanced feel at 73-77 mph, and an arm-side fading changeup at 76-78 mph. His big arm showed even better from the outfield where he played with clean footwork and the liveliest position player arm of the event, topping at 94 mph. The arm played long, loose and quick with all kinds of life out of the hand. The Hampshire product will be a name to follow throughout the upcoming high school season.

Physical 5-foot-10, 185-pound RHP Wilson Wemhoff (Hampshire, 2025) was a big-time standout during Friday night’s slate of games. Ranked No. 106 in the class, Wemhoff showed confidence and feel for his two offerings, punching out 11 over five innings of work. Wemhoff was sitting 82-85 mph with the fastball for most of the game before turning it up a notch at the end of his start by sitting 85-87 mph. Wemhoff paired his fastball with a sharp, 11/5 shaped breaking ball that could create swing and miss to both lefties and righties, 74-76 mph. Wemhoff’s final line: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 11 K.
OF Wilson Wemhoff (Hampshire, 2025) had one of the liveliest arms from the outfield during Tuesday’s workout at the Illinois State Games, and he translated that arm strength to the mound, too. A steady defender with a long and loose arm, Wemhoff sent a ball 90 mph on his best throw to home. His round of BP produced a max exit velocity of 94.7 mph, but sat consistently in mid-80s from the right side of the plate. He barreled his farthest ball a distance of 352 ft. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect ran a 7.11 60 time, too. Wemhoff hopped on the mound Wednesday night and pitched at 84-86, touching 87 mph, with his fastball, that showed noticeable carry (20.8”) at peak.

OF/RHP Wilson Wemhoff (Hampshire, 2025) is a 5-foot-8, 194-pound two-way prospect who started the day off by running a 7.16 60-yard dash. At the plate he has a controlled swing with quick hands and was consistently on the barrel with authority and loud contact throughout his round. Wemhoff repeatedly back spun the baseball with power coming easily as he produced some of the hardest contact of the day (97.1 mph max EV), the second highest of the event. He also showed off a strong arm in the outfield and put together one of the better bullpens of the day. The right-hander displayed a quiet delivery that has acceleration downhill combined with a long, whippy arm that worked out of a ¾ slot. Wemhoff featured a four-pitch mix, with his fastball playing at 83-85 mph, topping out at 86 mph while filling the zone with heavy arm-side run. He mixed in a curveball that landed for strikes with 11/5 shape, a developing slider with slurve action, and a developing changeup as well.

RHP Wilson Wemhoff (Hampshire, 2025) was a big winner at the event, showcasing a loose/easy arm with the ability to repeat his delivery. The right-hander’s fastball sat 75-77 mph with sinking action, touching 78 mph on his best bullet. He also displayed two breaking balls; a short 11/5 breaking ball at 64-65 mph and a sweeping 10/4 breaking ball at 65-67 mph. The right-hander also featured a fading changeup at 69-70 mph, kept down in the zone.
