Coming off what was arguably the best hitting summer in the country. Robert came down to Lakepoint for the second year in a row and continued to show why he’s the top bat in Canada. a 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame, he started off the workout day with loud BP rounds that included 4 balls hit over 100mph (Peak 101.9mph). Baseballs were jumping off his bat and it’s with minimal effort. Electric bat speed paired with an innate ability to find barrels. As we rolled into gameplay he continued to find success as we rolled into day 2, collecting multiple hits in gameplay including a bases loaded double that scored a couple. An impact LHH that will most likely not be on the board for much longer.

Omidi continues to show why he’s the top 2026 positional player in the country and provides our staff with quality content each time we see him. Playing up an age with 17U’s, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed hitter consistently puts balls in play and shows the ability to drive the ball with relative ease, especially to the pullside. Advanced tools in the box and has no issues handling velocity. Average runner right now and handles himself well at third base with good footwork and 83mph throws across the diamond. Will be a fun watch throughout his high school career and should create plenty of buzz late in the summer and into the fall as college recruiting opens up.

Omidi is the youngest Future Gamer we have here at LakePoint and he has looked the part in all facets of his game. In the box, Omidi had one of the best rounds of BP, elevating with strength and bat speed to the big part of the field. He jumped on the first pitch he saw in his 2nd AB vs. Connecticut today and drove it 97 mph off the bat into LCF for a 2 run single, showing now problems handling velo. In the field he made a nice play on a short hop moving to his right with the right actions at second base. Omidi is the lone 2027 on Canada’s roster and he’s looking the part against the older players.

2027 INF Robert Omidi was one of the main attractions on Canada’s NY State Games roster as he prepares for the Future Games next month. One of the youngest players at the event and physically fit in with his 6-foot, 180-pound frame, while flashing some of the louder tools among Canadians during the showcase. The left-handed bat is what immediately jumps out and his 89.1mph avg. exit velocity ranked fifth in the event among roughly 200 players in attendance. It wasn’t the strongest round of BP we’ve seen from Omidi but he still produced a peak exit velocity of 93.2mph with consistent hard contact which shows just how valuable his bat can be. The bat was quiet during game one but it didn’t faze him as he found the barrel twice in game two for a pair of hard-line drives, going for a single and a double. One of the most advanced 2027s we’ve seen so far across the country and continues to be one of the top producers on the field each time we see him.

Physical: 6-0, 180 pounds; Athletic, slight build.

Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Loads straight back with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a flat swing path with a two handed finish.  More groundballs than line drives and flyballs with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 74 MPH.

2026 Robert Omidi had by far the strongest day at the Jr. Future Games Trials. Sturdy frame at 6-foot, 180-pounds with smooth transitions from glove to hand in the infield. Immediately isolated himself as the top bat at the event, catching barrel after barrel with a mature approach to his swing. Has a well-timed, aggressive leg kick paired with bat speed and it translated to the highest peak exit velocity at the event at 97.2mph, as well as average exit velocity of 90.3mph. Omidi has shown impressive offseason development heading into the summer season and should be an intriguing follow.

Omidi has had several strong showings over the past year and continued his upward trend in Ontario’s 2027 class. A physical 6-foot, 175-pound build, Omidi flashes signs of hitterish-traits from the left-side. Natural loft in his swing path, he looks to do damage with every swing using the whole field with a max EV of 92.7 mph. On the infield, he gets to the ball fast with athleticism and smooth footwork and an accurate arm with carry across the diamond. Omidi has inserted himself in the conversation as one of the top 2027’s in the country.

2026 Robert Omidi was one of the younger players at the Jr. Future Games Trials and immediately caught our staff’s eye. Omidi has already grown and matured over the year and it showed with his metrics in the event. Solid build already at 6-foot, 170-pounds and moves well on the infield with some athleticism and arm strength (79mph). There’s lots to like offensively with the size and left-handed swing. Put up a very mature round for his age with several swings posting upper 80s exit velos with a top of 91mph. Another 2026 from the Fieldhouse Pirates to keep tabs on.

Omidi, a 5-foot-10 160-pound 2026 uncommitted SS/RHP for the Ontario Royals was one of the more impressive arms on the day. At the plate Omidi had a smooth, relaxed swing with good loft on his hits. The bat really whipped through the zone, the lower half stood out with good extension on his legs. On the mound the arm was smooth and aggressive coming out at a ¾ arm slot. All his pitches were repeated out of the same arm slot, slider stood out with a sharp break to it. Definitely will be a nightmare for hitters to face this coming season.
