RHP Ben DeTienne (Verona Area, 2028): Presents a lean, projectable frame on the mound, standing at 5-foot-11 and 145-pounds. The right-hander operates with a high leg lift, landing slightly closed while demonstrating excellent lead-leg stability and a balanced finish. Throwing from a high 3/4 slot, features a full and very quick arm action through release. His fastball sat 81-82 mph (2,155 rpm) with 18.2 inches of average induced vertical break, while his curveball played at 68-70 mph (2,425 rpm) with 9.8 inches of horizontal movement. The breaking ball acts as a hard, late two-plane breaker that profiles as a potential out pitch moving forward. Rounding out his arsenal, also showed a developing feel for a 69-73 mph changeup (1,853 rpm) that flashes 15.4 inches of horizontal depth and fade.

3/19/25

+ RHP Ben DeTienne (Verona Area, 2028) 5-foot-7, 118 pounds with clear room for physical projection. On the mound, DeTienne sat in the low 70s with the fastball with a loose arm and repeatable delivery and feel for multiple pitches for strikes. Our staff believes his frame and overall stuff have the potential to improve significantly in the near future.
