+ C/INF Hayden Jones (DeForest, 2030) opened some eyes with his performance at the event on Saturday. Jones is a strong and sturdy 5-foot-10, 168 pound athlete with more strength and size coming in his frame. Jones was all over the barrel in batting practice during the hitting portion of the event and registered the 2nd highest max exit velocity of the event at 85.9 mph and the second highest average exit velocity at 80.7 mph. He was hitting hard line drives throughout the round and showcased the ability to control the barrel to all fields. His pop time from home to second base was an event best at 2.25 seconds. Jones is still two years from high school and he is an extremely interesting prospect in the state for the 2030 class. Our staff will be locked into how he performs on the summer circuit.

Hit: RHH. Open, works back to even with rhythm, repeats. Downhill, natural feel to hit, drives it through the big part of the field, feel to hit.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 80.7 mph. 270' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-69 mph. INF-70 mph. 3/4 slot with arm quickness, carry and accuracy.
Defense: 2.25-2.39 pop times. INF: Quality footwork working around the ball, gets momentum going to first, quality actions overall, fluid. C: Quick feet, turns the ball around with aggressiveness, keeps it close on bunts, soft hands.
ATH: 8.15 runner in the 60. 1.93 and 4.45 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
