Scouting Staff

This past weekend, we kicked off our tournament circuit with the PBT Youth World Series at The Rock. This event was host to over 50 teams, with 20 of them hailing from the 14U division. Today, we wanted to take the time to highlight some of the 14U players that stood out to our staff, with a couple high-level 2030 grads mixed in as well.

5 Star Wisconsin 14U

1B Owen Dukelow (Oshkosh North, 2029)
Dukelow presented an intriguing power profile with a loft-based approach, looking to maximize his present strength from the middle of the order. The right-handed hitter stands with a balanced, upright base, utilizing a short leg kick to get into his launch position with a direct, uphill bat path. Defensively, the rising freshman demonstrated evident baseball IQ that allowed his current defensive tools to shine. Strong 6-foot, 220-pound frame. Would finish the weekend 3-for-10 with a double, a triple, three RBIs, three runs scored, and two walks.

He sets up in the back of the box with a long leg kick, showing rhythm with hands that start near the belt, but make their way up. Although Drew showed well with the bat, where he really stood out was on the base paths. He was looking to create chaos as a smart, eager baserunner. Looking to stretch walks into two bases, intentionally getting into pickles to get a runner from third to home, and still finding his way safely to second. A gritty base runner who understands the game and how to take advantage of creating chaos.
