MERRITT ISLAND, FL—Friday at the PBR Florida Preseason Classic gave us a look at two other top 10 prospects in the state in 3B Brandon Howlett (George Jenkins HS, FL) and RHP Lyon Richardson (Jensen Beach HS, FL).

One of the top hitters in the country, Howlett didn’t disappoint in his first game action of 2018. He smoked a single back up the middle in his first at-bat, then beat out a groundball to shortstop, getting down the line in 4.5 seconds. He struck out in his third at-bat, but hit another ball hard in his fourth. He was caught with his weight out front, but was able to keep his hands back to drive a ball to left field for a double. It drove in a run and started a furious rally for George Jenkins.
