The last year or so has been telling for 3B/RHP Matt Mervis (Georgetown Prep, MD). A Duke recruit, he got to see where he stacked up against his peers across the country and come to realize that he’s more than just a position player that uses his arm strength on the mound. He hit major stops in the summer like Tournament of Stars and East Coast Pro, catching the eyes of scouts and learning more about himself.
