Hitting cleanup for Marin Catholic, Davis quickly became one of my favorite bats to watch this season. Bouncing back from a 1st inning strikeout, Davis put together three straight hits to close the day. In his second trip up, Davis ambushed a first-pitch FB up in the zone for a line drive single into CF. Davis would follow this up with a HR down the LF line in the bottom of the 4th, trusting his hands on a 1-2 pitch running inside. His final AB was almost identical to his first hit, sending a FB up in the zone back up the middle into CF, later coming around to score on a SF. In the box, Davis has an aggressive approach and stays inside the baseball well Davis consistently finds the barrel thanks to his quick hands, solid bat-to-ball skills, and ability to create lift. At 6’ 2”, 185 lbs, Davis shows good instincts and athleticism on the bases, taking the extra base when available. With a strong offensive profile, Davis should continue to excel in the heart of Marin Catholic’s lineup.

Offensively: RH. EV max – 85.5 mph, hand speed max – 20.9 mph, bat speed max – 65.0 mph; Slightly open stance, with bent knees, and hands held behind the ear. Small leg kick leads to an aggressive swing that stays through the ball well. More FB’s and LD’s than GB’s.
Defensively: INF – 79 mph; Took solid angles to ground balls during defensive workout. Slightly upright when fielding the ball with a slower, but a sure transfer.
Delivery: High knee lift, with little wasted movement side to side. Quick worker that finishes facing the 1st base dugout.
Arm Action: Separates from below the belt and releases from a high 3/4 slot. Hides the ball well from the hitter’s perspective
FB: T79.1 mph, 77.5 - 78.6 mph range, 1903 avg spin; Throws a two seamer with good armside run.
CB: 63.6 - 65.1 mph, 1925 avg spin; Big, loopy curveball with 11-5 break. Could command it for a strike and as a swing and miss pitch at the bottom of the zone.
CHG: 67.7 - 70.7 mph, 1734 avg spin; Effective pitch to left-handed hitters. Has nice, late fade while initially staying on the same plane as the FB.
Positional Profile: SS
Body: 6-0, 152-pounds. Long young body, lean/lanky frame projects to have positive size and strength gains as he matures.

Fairly short stroke, quiet barrel with bat control, works inside, sees ball well, able to use all fields, sound mechanics, controlled two hand finish, maintains top hand integrity.
Power: 79 max exit velocity, 62.8 max bat speed, 20.3 max hand speed.
Arm: RH. INF - 70 mph. Short backside arm action, can change arm angles though natural slot is near overhand, throws stayed on-line, ability to close on the ball allows arm to play up.

FB: T74, 72-73 mph. Commands both sides of the plate. Flashes arm side run.
