Albrecht made the trip out from Thousand Oaks and the broad shouldered, high waisted and long limbed righthander put together an impressive outing. Albrech punched out three of the five hitters he faced allowing one hard hit ball while inducing soft contact in his final hitter faced. With a prototype pitchers frame and a clean delivery operation that works from a high 3/4 slot the delivery foundation is strong while still showing room for additional gains as he adds more strength to his frame. Albrecht worked predominantly off of a FB in the 86-87 MPH range that topped out at 88.8 MPH on the day with spin rates above 2300 RPMs showing a cut/ride shape that had up to 16.2" of IVB over his outing. The righthander spun an intriguing curveball with power in the velocity at 79-82 MPH and showed intriguing vertical depth off his FB to play to a north/south attack profile off of those two offering. While as good as the FB/CB are for Albrecht he mixed in an intriguing SLD at 76-78 MPH while getting -9.2" of glove side horizontal movement and showed a CHG during warmups, but did not throw during live at bats. His four pitch mix and solid feel for the strike zone during his outing give off a starters profile for his future potential and is a high quality arm to keep eyes on for college programs.
