Future Games Tryout: Central California - Player Analysis

On Saturday, June 7th, the PB California staff traveled to Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, CA, to host the annual Future Games Tryout: Central California, an invite-only event for the class of 2026-2027.

More than 21 players made their way to Antelope Valley College and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Today, we will be looking at all of the scouting reports below:

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1. Andrew Weber, Upland High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B Strong two-way, middle of the order bat with great feel at third base.
Body: 6-4, 215 pounds. Sturdy, stocky build.
Hit: RHH. Wide, strong lower half base. Knees slightly bent. Hands held back at ear level. Back elbow pointed back at catcher. Small forward stride. Loads in back leg. Hands cast outward. Short barrel path to ball. Torques with hips. Controlled, even barrel path. mph bat speed with g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 98 mph max exit velocity (90.6 avg.); 342-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 86.00 mph. 3/4 arm slot. Quick, snappy release. Ball comes out quick on an even trajectory. Strong, accurate arm.
Defense: Wide lower base. Controlled tempo when fielding. Efficient transfer.

Positional Profile: RHP Strong two-way, middle of the order bat with great feel at third base.
Delivery: Quick traditional windup. High leg kick. Creates separation early in delivery. Lands soft and follows through.
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 arm slot. Quick full circle arm path. Short, loose arm release. Minimal recoil.
FB: T89, 85-88 mph. Shows life in and out the zone. Commands well in the zone and can induce swings-and-misses. T2234, 2116 average rpm.
CB: 73-75 mph. High arcing, late drop. Used to create chases out the zone. T2445, 2384 average rpm.
SL: 75-77 mph. Sharp, biting movement. Can throw for strikes. T2526, 2420 average rpm.
CH: 79-79 mph. Features some diving action. Stays low. T1617, 1617 average rpm.
