Ramirez was a key cog throughout the Tritons impressive 2024 run in the Channel League and during the CIF playoffs. This year he has built on his solid first year by making some ticks up with his athleticism and the operation of his swing. The RH hitter has consistently displayed a sound bat to ball profile with a feel to use the whole field for solid contact (evidenced by multiple live looks and several strong Prep Baseball California event performances). Now in my second look at him this spring the tick up in his bat speed was apparent and it helped to generate more impact while getting the barrel in the zone quicker, but staying in the zone longer. Ramirez is using the ground more effectively in the turn which helped keep his upper body behind contact (last year there was a slight lean forward at contact) which showed up when he laced a line drive to LCF through the stiff wind for a 2 RBI single (which proved to be the winning hit as the Tritons held on for a 2-1 win). The ball is coming off the bat with more authority even on his misses as he stung a pair of hard one hoppers to the middle infielders over his next two at bats. Still just a Soph. the profile for Ramirez is continuing to head in the right direction as a next level player.

Bobby Ramirez, Pacifica High (CA), 2027 Positional Profile: 3B/SS Athleticism continues to trend up which combined with strong overall toolset has him on the rise as a RHH INF who shows 3 position defensive versatility with increasing power at plate. Body: 5-7, 162-pounds. Compact athletic frame that continues to get stronger and more athletic. Hit: RHH. Even set up with feet and balanced hips sitting slightly into a crouch with slight hip hinge. Hands are set around ear height over the back shoulder with flatter bat angle showing waggle and a higher back elbow. Uses a medium leg kick with a shift into his back leg to load while tipping his barrel to get hands into position for launch. Showed some inconsistency with front foot timing, but uses hips well during the turn with rear shoulder driving through contact. Hand/barrel path is direct to the ball with barrel showing leverage through the zone. 64.5 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 84.0 mph. 310' max distance. Consistently hits the ball in the air, but more on a line drive plane which suits present approach to work line to line with hard contact. Power will plays as doubles with potential to mature into more has develops. Arm: RH. INF-76 mph. Controlled arm path with length in the back swing the has aggressive pace through the throw. Can throw from different slots. Arm can tick up with better footwork. Defense: Sure handed defender who is comfortable relying on his hands. Feet work with rhythm and show timing. Plays well laterally and downhill. Profiles at 3B/2B athletically, but flashes SS potential. ATH: 7.76 runner in the 60. Maintains body control with solid burst off the line. Can continue to improve stride length/speed.
