Bobo hopped onto the mound to close out the game for Patrick Henry. The pitching profile is strong, as is the other side as a plus defender and a hitting outfielder. He seemed to be slightly holding back on the mound, working for feel instead of emptying the tank. He sat from 86-89 mph, topping 90 mph with arm-side-run while locating on the outer edge against both left and right-handed hitters. The slider was employed against both sides and showed different profiles. The velocity was 75-80 mph, with that top range getting more horizontal sweep and the lower range being more vertical. It is a high spin pitch and comes clean out of the hand. It is a true swing and miss pitch for Bobo, getting both ugly swing-and-miss and stealing it for strikes by starting it at the head of RHH and bringing it back over the plate. The brief look was a good refresher of what Bobo has to offer as a two-way and shows an upward trending profile on the mound. Bobo also hits fourth for Patrick Henry and has enjoyed a productive spring at the plate with strong defense. He is hitting .279 with an OBP of .418 and three XBHs.

Bobo had himself a good overall day, both at the plate and on the mound. At the plate, Bobo went 1/2 with 2 BB. His hit was a hard ground single through the 5-6 hole with 2 strikes. He let the velo do the work with his simple, easy swing. Bobo then came in for relief, throwing 3 innings. In these 3 innings, Bobo held the opposing line up to 2 H and 1 ER. The FB had good velo and rise, as he was getting swings up in the zone. He was pairing the FB with a sharp break CB keeping hitters off balance. Bobo’s outing looked great, as he was able to stabilize some very good hitters in the opposing lineup.

In the 2024 season, I wasn't able to see much of Bobo due to a transfer sit-out period for the first half of the season and limited time in the lineup and on the mound. The small glimpses were enough to make me a believer, Bobo's swings were high leverage and looked the part while the defense was lights out. Following Bobo in the summer, the pitching looked the part, with velocity reaching into the low 90s and a quality breaking ball. Bobo backed up everything I saw in the spring on Saturday. He showed off the arm talent with multiple throws reaching 88 mph from the outfield. At the plate in BP, Bobo had the second highest bat speed of the event at 83.6 mph and had a max EV of 100.6 and an average of 90.4. In his first at-bat, Bobo turned around on a high 80s FB to smoke a double into the LCF gap with 97 EV. He then hopped on the mound and dominated, setting down four straight batters while striking out two. He mixed a FB from 88-90 with a wipe out slider at 74-77 that was located for strikes and got multiple swings when placed in the LH batters box.
