The freshman has made an impact all year long out of the 2-hole for the Tigers with more of the same continuing across the double-header. Tallied three hits including a go-ahead 2-run home-run in game one as he dismantled a changeup way out to left center field. Physical, athletic 5-foot-9 frame with compact strength throughout with tools to project. The RHH stays extremely well-leveraged through the zone in a quiet, balanced load with very minimal wasted effort throughout the cut. Controlled hands stand out in a direct path to the ball while delivering a heavy barrel throughout the zone with budding accuracy. Ability to hit to all-fields with gap to gap strength and creates carry to the pull-side. Goudie looks the part of a 4-year impact starter for Harris County with plenty of upside to tap into and will be a must follow across the national stage in the coming years.
We had been hearing about Goudie for quite some time but were finally able to see it this past weekend as he put together quite the showing. Compact 5-foot-9, 150-pounds with budding strength throughout and looked the part in the box all weekend. Came through with 5-hits across his final two games as he set the tone while hitting in the 2 or 3-hole for the Tigers. Works from the ground-up with present bat speed and explosive hands in-zone while generating impact in the barrel to match. Ability to adjust in-zone stands out with innate bat-to-ball skills and ability to use the whole field as well. Advanced approach at the dish and looks mature beyond his years as he really slows the game down with excellent feel for the zone. It was a statement showing for Goudie at GDC as he boasts an immense feel to hit and will be a name to know in the ‘29 class this Spring and so forth.
