1B Anthony Chavez (IL, Illinois recruit) 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame, proportionate with present strength, long-levered with more room to continue to add muscle throughout, impressive athlete for his size and profile. A recent standout from the Illinois ProCase, Chavez continues to raise his stock as one of the more polished left-handed hitters in the Midwest. Simple left-handed setup with a wide base, hangs foot with a controlled forward move and long stride, creates a stretch and hand separation into footstrike. Drops the head with accuracy and heaviness, natural ability to lift and control the barrel, has long been a performer for our staff in-game. Gained confidence as he went in his rounds of BP, settling into his second round with consistent loud contact to the big parts of the field. Natural defender at first base with clear feel for the position, fluid footwork with awareness around the bag, soft hands and athletic actions stand out. Also a 6.68 runner, Chavez likely will be able to make the shift to the outfield if needed. Exciting left-handed hitter that continues to make strides as a bat and overall athlete. 60-yard dash (30 yd. split): 6.68 (3.75) Max Exit (avg.): 108.3 (101.6) Max Distance: 417’

Arrow up prospect, currently ranked No. 41 in the Illinois’ 2026 class, who posted big measurables (T107 mph exit velocity) this winter. Was on the barrel throughout the game; finished 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Opened up the scoring with a backside two-run home run to left field in the top of the first inning. Barreled a fly ball to the warning track in his second at-bat and flew out hard to right in his third at-bat. Calm in the box with fluid movement patterns. Creates easy leverage and lift in his swing. Middle-of-the-order profile who showed whole field power and mature approach. Uncommitted left-handed bat to know in the state.

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 65 in the state, went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk and a run scored out of the three-hole for Mt. Carmel. We saw Chavez two weeks ago, and he was on the barrel more consistently in this look. The left-handed hitter had a patient, yet mature approach Monday; not chasing pitches out of the zone, and getting quality swings off on pitches in the zone. He also showed an above-average arm for the first base position before the game during I/O, playing loose and easy with carry on his throws. Chavez is another sophomore to continue to monitor for the Caravan.
Currently ranked No. 65 in the state, standing at a strong 6-foot-2, 201-pounds. Played first base and batted out of the three-hole for the Caravan, delivering the winning hit in extra-innings. He also hopped on the mound towards the end of the game showing some potential upside there as well. Chavez ran his fastball up to 81 mph while showing a 2/8-shaped breaker that flashed late bite.
