C Brandon Stinson (Kenwood, 2025) was another backstop who put together a strong all-around day. Stinson has an athletic, 6-foot-1, 176-pound frame and level swing that was consistently on time and on the barrel throughout BP. He creates backspun, line-drive contact and was second-best at the event with an average of 21.1 g of rotational acceleration. His arm also played up to 76 mph from the crouch and his pop times ranged from 1.94-2.09.
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-1, 176.4-pounds. Lean, athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, slightly open setup, controlled stride. Fast, strong hands, controlled aggression. Flat through the zone at times, creates backspin. 65.5 mph bat speed with 21 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 81.8 mph. 298’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 76 mph. Quick, short arm action, high 3/4 slot. Accurate throws.
Defense: 1.94-2.09 pop times. Quick and athletic out of the crouch, quick feet, works towards target, fluid transfers.
Run: 7.71 runner in the 60.
C Brandon Stinson (Kenwood Academy, 2025) is a ceiling backstop that impressed in many ways throughout the event. The wiry, athletic catcher stands at 6-foot-1, 177-pounds with long levers. Stinson is a mobile defender behind the dish, registering a top pop time of 2.00 with a 76 mph arm out of the chute. He also provides quality receiving and blocking actions. At the plate, Stinson exhibited advanced bat-to-ball skills, starting from a wide stance and a flat bat path. In BP, he worked his peak exit velocity into the low-90s, with a max distance of 351 feet. In game, the right-handed hitter took several quality at-bats, including two loud barrels up the middle of the field.

Body: 6-1, 177-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Stock setup, sits backside, slight leg-lift trigger. Twitchy, quick swing with some uphill, pull-side approach. Finished game play 3-for-8 and drove in a run.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 71.7 mph. 351’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 75 mph. Quick, short, one-hop to target on the bag, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.08-2.22 pop times. Clean, quick transfer, quick to release, works in-line on throws, soft blocker.
Run: 7.40 runner in the 60.
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 177-pound, long-levered, projectable frame. Stinson was key to the win coming out of the bullpen and putting together a strong three-ining stint. He struck out five while giving up two unearned runs on five hits. The right-handed pitcher works out of the stretch only, moving with fluidity and directional to home. Finishes in an athletic position and was able to field his position on two occasions with runners in scoring position. Compact, clean arm action that plays out of a high ¾ to over-the-top slot. Worked primarily with a fastball and curveball mix during the outing. The fastball played true with occasional ride at 82-83 mph and topped out at 84 mph. Curveball was his go-to offering, thrown with confidence and in any count, 11/5 shape with some bite, sitting 70-72 mph. Young arm to follow for Kenwood.

Hit: RHH. Balanced crouched stance with short stride and minimal hand load. Controlled aggression, loose strong hands, long through the zone, mature whole field approach, natural lift at times.

Arm: RH. C - 76 mph. Short loose arm action, finishes out of a fast high 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.00-2.14 pop times. Upright start, wide base. Fast feet that line up to target, quick hand transfer to release.
Run: 7.70 runner in the 60.
C/RHP Brandon Stinson (Kenwood, 2025) is a big-bodied catcher with an above-average skill set and a frame that looks far from done growing. At the plate, the right-handed hitter gets into his legs during his setup and swings with intent and aggression with a feel for the barrel. He stays short to contact and he utilizes the whole field. Defensively, behind the plate, he has a loose arm and a quick, clean exchange. He stays on balance with quick feet well and strong, accurate throws, topping at 75 mph with a low pop time of 2.03. On the mound, Stinson worked his fastball up to 81.5 mph to pair off an 11/5 curveball at 63-67 mph and slight fading changeup at 65-70 mph.

Hit: RHH. Narrow feet, tall setup, slight bend at the knee; hands set high. Lets the ball travel, swings with controlled aggression, remains balanced throughout, long, uphill path, strong off the barrel and gap-to-gap approach.
Power: 87.6 max exit velocity, averaged 76.5 mph. 322’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 73 mph. Loose arm action. Works from a high 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: 2.00-2.06 pop times. Athletic receiver. Soft hands, quick feet, works to present pitches in and around the zone.
Run: 7.85 runner in the 60.
The Stinson brothers (Kenwood), Brandon and Evan, are two members of the 2025 class who showed well throughout Saturday’s event. Brandon, standing at 6-foot, 178 pounds, caught our staff’s attention on the mound with an ultra-loose arm that produced a running fastball up to 81.6 mph with occasional tilt and angle. He then went to an 11/5 breaking ball that flashed depth at times, thrown with intent, 64-68 mph. To fill out his three-pitch mix, Brandon went to a fading changeup that he was able to keep down in the zone at 67-68 mph.

Body: 6-0, 178-pounds. Projectable frame.
Delivery: Loose, athletic, drop and drive delivery. Remains in line down the mound. Front foot lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Loose, easy arm action. Works from an over-the-top arm slot.
FB: T81.6, 79.4-81.5 mph. Jumps out of the hand. Sinking action to the lower-right quadrant of the zone. T1898, 1770 average rpm.
CB: 62.8-68.8 mph. 11/5 shape. Thrown with fastball arm speed. Depth at times. T1853, 1583 average rpm.
CH: 70.3-73.1 mph. Thrown with intent. Kept down in the zone with arm-side fade. T1583, 1434 average rpm.
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Strong, physical frame; thick lower half.
Defense: 2.12-2.19 pop times. Took reps on the infield and behind the plate. Glove plays low and out front on the infield, feet defend in rhythm, steady hands, some length to release. Athletic out of the crouch, soft hands, quick to release, stays in line to target. Adept blocker. Advanced defensive actions behind the plate for age.
Arm: RH. C - 71 mph. INF - 78 mph. Shorter arm action from behind the plate, lengthens up on the infield. Finishes from an over-the-top slot from both spots.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, slight pre-pitch bat waggle, hands start high in a strong hitting position, short stride. Quick hands, short and level bat path, steady gap-to-gap contact, consistent rhythm throughout.
Power: 77 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 8.05 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Tempo'd drop/drive type delivery, heavy front hip turn before moving downhill, front toe lands open to target.
Arm Action: RH. Short, quick arm circle that finishes from an over-the-top slot.
FB: T78, 76-78 mph. Elevated arm slot creates a downhill angle when fingers work on top of the baseball; strikes.
CB: 62-66 mph. 10/4 shape, tight spin, some strikes.
CH: 65-68 mph. Thrown at fastball arm speed. Straight action, stayed elevated.
