Listed at an imposing 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, Hamilton featured one of the more impressive frames in attendance, regardless of class. Yet another high-level two-way prospect at the event. From the right-handed batter's box, the ball explodes off the bat, averaging an impressive 94.6 mph exit velocity with a max EV of 98 mph, consistently demonstrating a knack for squared-up, loud contact. His 7.19-second 60-yard dash time is competitive for his immense size, and in the infield, he moves with clean footwork, steady hands and topped at 86 mph. On the mound his fastball sits 84-88 mph, playing clean and straight out of the hand, complemented by a 70-74 mph curveball with shorter 11/5 shape, and a 73-77 mph split-changeup that kills spin with downer action and fade. Hamilton's advanced power potential, combined with his projectable arm on the mound, firmly establishes him as a two-way follow in Illinois' 2028 class.
One of the day’s biggest takeaways was RHP/1B Brock Hamilton (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2028), who looks to have made some significant strides since the last time we saw him a year ago. He has an imposing presence, standing in at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, and there still appears to be room to add strength as he matures throughout the coming years. Despite being one of the youngest in attendance, the big right-hander delivered the second hardest fastball of the day at 86 mph, working with an easy, long-levered delivery that is able to create some angle through the zone. His curveball is still developing at 74-78 mph with short action, but he should be able to get outs with just his fastball right now. At the plate, he showed easy juice from the right side with a peak exit velocity of 91.5 mph, also averaging 22 mph for his hand-speed.

Showing well in his Prep Baseball showcase debut was 1B Brock Hamilton (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2028). Not even in high school yet, the strong-bodied 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect has an intimidating and large frame, especially for his age, and there looks to still be room to add on strength in the future. The right-handed hitter showed off some of his power potential, reaching up to 90 mph for his max EV with a max distance of 324’, consistently looking to elevate up the middle of the field. He took an impressive round of defense at first base, displaying soft hands and clear feel for the position, moving especially well for his size around the bag.
