RHP Connor Fox (Mt. Zion, 2027) is an uncommitted name to follow through the Illinois class of 2027. Fox put together one of the most impressive outings we saw at this year's State Games. The wiry, 6-foot, 160-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out, the right-hander struck out three over two innings, only allowing one hit and walking none. Working with confidence and dominance on the mound, dealing with a four-pitch mix. The fastball was sitting 85-87 mph, with good ride for the slot, and the sinker played true, sitting mid-80s, with 15 inches of horizontal movement. The slider was 75-76 mph with a sweeper profile and 2200 RPMs, and the changeup was 75-76 mph, with arm-side run, dropping off from the fastball. Working with a reptable, high kick motion, with quick, short arm action from the lower ¾ slot. Fox created trouble for hitters with the slot, along with dominating the zone and attacking hitters early.

Fox continues to improve every time we see him. A wiry, athletic, 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with a lot of room to fill out, Fox was dominant during his Friday morning start. The right-hander tossed five innings of one-run ball, striking out six, while allowing three hits and zero walks. Working with a three-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 84-86 mph, holding through his outing, the slider was 73-76 mph with sweep, and the change-up was 77-79 mph. Clear feel for all three pitches, able to mix and match, keeping hitters off balance and pounding the zone. The arm works extremely loose and clean from a lower ¾ slot. As Fox continues to fill out his frame, he will be a name to know in the state of Illinois.
Stands in an upside frame at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds with seemingly more to come. Started in left field and batted eight. Led the offense in hits, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. One of the hits came off a low-90s arm to the pull-side. Batting from the right side of the plate, Fox showed a direct and easy swing, slightly uphill path.
RHP/SS Connor Fox (Mt. Zion, 2027) stands in a lean 5-foot-11, 152-pound frame with projection still to come. He's an athletic mover down the mound with a compact arm path out of a high 3/4 slot. Fox's fastball sat in the low-80s, and topped out at 84.8 mph with sink at times. He spun a slider that induced swing-and-miss, playing with short horizontal actions. He rounded out his aresenal with a change-up that played with arm-side fade and tunneled effectively off of the fastball. Intriguing arm to monitor.

An athletic 6-foot-0, 155-pound frame, Fox (Mt. Zion, 2027) was dominant on the mound for Wow Factor Illinois this Sunday. The right-hander collected three strikeouts and allowed only one hit. His fastball sat 81-83 mph with a slider sitting 70-74 mph. The fastball had life out of the hand, paired with a sharp gyro slider. Both pitches had hitters guessing, leaving them frozen at the plate. Fox showed extreme repeatability able to hit spots on command. With a fluid motion and a clean quick arm action, Fox was able to get easy velocity. This right-handed pitcher will be a name to watch on the mound as he continues a strong summer.
