INF/RHP Dominic Talaga (Stagg, 2027) showed to be one of the better right-handed hitters in attendance. He presents an athletic, high-waisted 6-foot, 180-pound frame with some present strength throughout. During batting practice, he showed quick hands (avg. 21.9 mph) and present bat speed (avg. 71.6 mph). Talaga was on the barrel throughout his round, leading the event in average exit velocity (95.1 mph) and he also hit the third-farthest ball for the event at 368 feet. Talaga also impressed on the mound, where he showed a simple and controlled delivery. He utilized a full, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 81-82.8 mph with an average horizontal movement of 16.7 inches (18.6 inches max). Talaga’s changeup sat 73-73.8 mph with an average horizontal movement of 19.2 inches. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a curveball that sat 69.8-71.6 mph with downer action. The pitch had an average induced vertical break of 1.3 inches and an average horizontal movement of -2.8 inches (-7.3 inches max).Talaga had a breakout performance during the event and is a name to keep an eye on.
