On Sunday, August 24th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff capped off their summer calendar with the Last Chance ID at Ozinga Field in Crestwood, IL. This event was host to over 50 players from around the state and across numerous grad classes - giving our staff one final look before we moved onto the fall circuit.

Today, we are taking a look at every single position player from the day, along with a Top-10 ranking of who our staff thought showed the best on the day.

2027 first baseman Joe Valenza (Plainfield North) was one left-handed hitter who just missed the cut below but deserves a mention. Valenza has an athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound build and his bat stays on-plane and through the hitting zone routinely making hard gap-to-gap contact while peaking at 93.6 mph off the bat during BP.
