RHP, Eli Michanicou, Dunlap, 2027
Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 38 in the state. 5-foot-10, 171-pound frame, some present strength throughout and in the lower-half. Started on the mound and hit out of the six-hole for the Eagles. The right-hander threw it well on the mound, going three scoreless with no hits or runs, walking one and striking out five. He has a simple and compact delivery with some intent and an athletic finish, pairing with a quick arm from a high ¾ release. His fastball played in the 81-83 mph range with straight four-seam action. He showed feel for a curveball at 70-74 mph, playing with 11/5 shape and depth. The right-handed hitter showed well at the plate throughout the day, finishing this game 1-for-3 with two RBIs. There’s clear strength in his bat, and he works through the zone with intent to lift and an uphill path. High-follow sophomore in the state.

Displaying a strong and athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with plenty of room for growth, Michanicou (Dunlap, 2027) contributed to Wow Factor in their 11-2 victory over Canes Indiana. The right-handed batter scored two runs and went 1-for-3 at the plate with a hard hit RBI single to left field. Mechanically at the plate, Michanicou has a wide power stance with high hands possessing a long leg kick with a compact swing, keeping his bat close to his body. Michanicou is quick out of the box and presents quality effort. Michanicou also showed well on the mound Monday morning in his semi-final game. The right-handed pitcher was sitting 79-82 mph with his fastball and 71-72 with the slider. He ended his outing after four innings allowing two runs, two walks, and five hits while striking out three. Michanicou attacked hitters and was able to generate soft contact. He had feel and command for both pitches. With the performance he had this weekend, he will be one to watch on both sides of the field.
