RHP/OF Easton DeBernardi (Marquette Academy, 2027) was dominant in his two innings of work, grabbing four strikeouts with his fastball-slider combo. Trim, athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame. The right-hander worked with a rocker step into a medium leg kick, working in-line to the plate, with a full ¾ arm slot and present armspeed. DeBernardi finished with two scoreless innings, only allowing one hit and one walk with four strikeouts. He showed a high feel for spin with his two-pitch mix, landing both consistently for strikes. His fastball was 85-87 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,400-2,500+ rpm, and his slider showed a sharp sweeping action at 75-77 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,500-2,600+ rpm and a HM max of -12.3”. A left-handed hitter as well, DeBernardi had a quality showing offensively at the event. During the workout, he maxed out at 99 mph off the bat with a 354 foot max batted ball distance, and also reached 89 mph from the outfield. He would go on to tally a couple hits throughout gameplay including a double.

Hit: LHH. Balanced, slightly open setup, slight pre-pitch rhythm in the hands, fluid load, short stride works back to even, linear lower half. Loose and fluid, flat swing, balanced, showed lift to the pull-side at times. 68.5 mph bat speed with 6g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 99 mph max exit velocity (91.7 avg.); 354-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 89 mph. Full arm action, clean with arm speed, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Proper routes with range, works through the baseball.
Athletic Testing: 7.01 runner in the 60-yard dash; 24.50-inch max vertical jump.

Delivery: Rocker step into leg kick, drop/drive and athletic, works in-line to the plate.

SL: 76-78 mph. Sharp sweeping action, go-to offspeed option. T2618, 2564 average rpm.
Uncommitted. Athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with room to add strength. DeBernardi showed loud stuff out of the pen on Saturday as he struck out two batters through two shutout innings. The right-hander operates from a simple delivery with a high leg lift while having a drop/drive approach. Compact, short, quick arm action from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 84-85 mph early and settled in the low-80s while having a spin rate that topped out at 2489 RPM.
Positional Profile: OF/3B
Body: 5-10, 165 pounds. Trim, athletic frame.
Hit: LHH. Narrow stance, quiet load, strides in line, rhythmic. Level path, compact, hands stay on top of the ball, pull-side approach. 63.8 mph bat speed with 7g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 mph max exit velocity (87.4 avg.); 361-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 85 mph. Long, loose arm action.
Defense: Gets around the baseball, soft hands, athletic actions and quick first step.
Athletic Testing: 7.32 runner in the 60-yard dash; 21.70-inch max vertical jump.
