RHP/OF Easton DeBernardi (Marquette Academy, 2027) was dominant in his two innings of work, grabbing four strikeouts with his fastball-slider combo. Trim, athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame. The right-hander worked with a rocker step into a medium leg kick, working in-line to the plate, with a full ¾ arm slot and present armspeed. DeBernardi finished with two scoreless innings, only allowing one hit and one walk with four strikeouts. He showed a high feel for spin with his two-pitch mix, landing both consistently for strikes. His fastball was 85-87 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,400-2,500+ rpm, and his slider showed a sharp sweeping action at 75-77 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,500-2,600+ rpm and a HM max of -12.3”. A left-handed hitter as well, DeBernardi had a quality showing offensively at the event. During the workout, he maxed out at 99 mph off the bat with a 354 foot max batted ball distance, and also reached 89 mph from the outfield. He would go on to tally a couple hits throughout gameplay including a double.
