1B/LHP Grant Statler (Hononegah, 2027) is an intriguing left/left prospect who showed upside on both sides of the ball at the event. At 5-foot-11, 167-pounds, he has a smooth and easy swing that flashed barrel strength with an easy pull-side home run on day two. Statler also hopped on the bump and topped out at 88.3 mph and showed a sharp breaking curveball at 70-72 mph that he could land for strikes.

LHP/1B Grant Statler (Hononegah, 2027) is a name to follow from the day. On the mound, he’s an athletic mover with a simple and repeatable delivery, pairing with a clean/quick arm and ¾ release. His fastball topped at 88 mph with heavy arm-side run, cruising more in the 84-87 mph range. He showed a knack to spin his breaking ball (T2478 rpm), playing with shorter 1/7 shape at 72-74 mph. Flashed a changeup with over 21” of run, sitting around 76-79 mph. At the plate, he has a longer, flat swing that looks to keep the ball on a line, working to the gaps at times with a peak EV of 94.5 mph.
LHP/1B Grant Statler (Hononegah, 2027) will be a name to follow throughout the coming years on both sides of the ball. He has a wiry and projectable build, standing in at 5-foot-10, 167-pounds. At the plate, the left-handed hitter displayed a simple, flat swing with a balanced and compact finish, working on the barrel to the whole field, showing the ability to cover the plate (T94 mph EV). Statler worked a simple delivery on the mound and showcased his fastball up to 85 mph. He showed some feel for both his curveball and slider - the curveball working with 11/5 shape, and the slider playing with more short, horizontal bite. He rounded out his arsenal with a changeup that worked with slight fade, sitting 74-76 mph.

LHP/1B Grant Statler (Hononegah, 2027) showed well both at the plate and on the mound. A left-handed hitter at the plate, Statler showed a direct path to the ball and was on the barrel throughout, posting a max exit velocity of 87.2 mph. He showed clean actions on the mound with minimal effort and a long, loose arm action. His fastball was up to 82 mph with arm-side run, also mixing in a change-up with fade and a curveball with sweeping action.

LHP/1B Grant Statler (Hononegah, 2027) made his PBR event debut on Tuesday and was one of the top ‘27s in attendance. On the mound, it’s an easy operation with minimal effort paired with a clean arm. His fastball sat in the mid-70s and topped at 78.3 mph on his last pitch. His fastball averaged 14.5 in. of horizontal movement while his offspeed is still developing at his young age. Certainly one to watch in the coming years.
