RHP Hayden Foster (Kaneland, 2026) is a wiry, long-limbed, 6-foot, 160-pound frame, Foster gave an interesting first look on Wednesday morning. Striking out four over two innings of work, Foster showed complete feel for a four-pitch mix, filling up the zone and attacking hitters. The fastball was 86-88 mph, with late ride. The curveball 68-73 mph, late break, 2600 RPMs. The slider was 73-75 mph, with sweeper shape -20.5 average horizontal movement. Then the changeup was 75-76 mph, with arm-side run. All four pitches worked well off each other, keeping hitters guessing at the plate, with distinct separation from each pitch. Foster works from a Reptable, drop and drive, high kick motion, with clean full-circle arm action from the ¾ slot.
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Wiry, well-proportioned frame with room to fill in.
Delivery: Repeatable, high leg kick motion, drop and drive down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 slot, easy, clean, full-circle arm action
FB: T88, 86-87 mph. Late ride, with slight cut. T2291, 2103 average rpm.
CB: 68-73 mph. Late break with depth, pairs well with SL. T2609, 2461 average rpm.
SL: 73-73 mph. Sweeper shape, with high spin rates. T2555, 2555 average rpm.
CH: 75-76 mph. Slight drop off from FB with arm-side run. T1945, 1935 average rpm.
Foster struckout seven in three innings while only allowing one runner on base via a walk. Foster showed off one of the premier pitches of the weekend which was his curveball that sat 64-66 and had hitters buckling. The pitch is an 11/5 with immense depth and late break that played off of his 77-79 mph fastball, keeping the opposition guessing. Foster is a name to keep an eye on as he progresses through his high school career.
