INF Jonathan Osornio (Mount Carmel, 2026) had a memorable round of BP from the day. His frame stands out at 6-foot-1, 203-pounds, looking to have added some strength over the last year while still holding room for more. The right-handed hitter was all over the barrel in his round, averaging 92 mph and peaking at 100 mph (T344’) - showing a strong and compact swing with a slightly uphill path, keeping the ball on a line to his pull-side and the middle of the field. His BLAST metrics were also impressive, averaging 74 mph for his bat-speed and peaking at 82 mph.

A strong athlete at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds with present upper body strength; Osornio put together perhaps the best round of batting practice at the event, sending balls to both gaps with easy authority. The right-handed hitter posted a max exit velocity of 94.2 mph with a max distance of 328 feet at the event. He also had noticeably quick hands (avg. 21.8 mph) to help generate the highest max bat speed at the event at 84.1 mph (avg. 73.2 mph).

Junior Futures Games: The bats exploded for five runs in the top of the sixth inning to put the game out of reach; RBI singles from 3B/RHP Jonathan Osornio (St. Rita, 2026), Oliver Thulin, as well as RBI doubles from OF Jaxson Crancer (Normal West, 2026) and SS/RHP Lucas Simulick (Joliet Catholic, 2026) helped cap off the big inning. Ian Kelly came up big early in the game with an RBI single to put Illinois ahead 2-0 in the top of the fourth, while Simulick added one more in the fifth with an RBI double, his second of the day.

Osornio has an aggressive, fast right-handed swing and some moxy in the box for his age. Osornio stays short and level through the zone with fluid rhythm and worked gap-to-gap.
