An Athletic outfielder we have become familiar with is Ian Kelly (Huntley, 2026). Currently ranked No. 123 in the state, he looks to have added some strength to his already athletic 5-foot-10, 158-pound frame, though there is still plenty of room to continue to fill out. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has a balanced operation that utilizes his legs through impact, working to keep the ball on a line up the middle of the field, reaching up to 94 mph for his peak EV with an average of 88 mph. Kelly also showed well from the outfield with a confident one-hand gather off his front foot, fielding the ball in-stride, and looking comfortable at the position.

OF Ian Kelly (Huntley, 2026) continues to trend upwards each time we lay eyes on him. He’s gained some strength in his 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame, and we’re starting to see some development in his lower-half. The left-handed hitter displayed loose/whippy hands through the zone, utilizing a flat path with extension out front to create a max EV of 91 mph. There’s an athletic look to his swing, working with some rhythm throughout his round and finishing on-balance while working the ball to the whole field. Defensively, Kelly has active footwork and athletic actions, playing through the ball with rhythm and intent. He moves well into a crow hop, delivering strong throws from a full arm swing and over-the-top slot, reaching up to 85 mph. Projectable outfielder that continues to improve in each look.

Junior Futures Games: OF/RHP Ian Kelly (Huntley, 2026) came out of the ‘pen to relieve Harris and provided quality relief, working his fastball up to 76 mph and recording ground balls regularly.
The bats exploded for five runs in the top of the sixth inning to put the game out of reach; RBI singles from 3B/RHP Jonathan Osornio (St. Rita, 2026), Oliver Thulin, as well as RBI doubles from OF Jaxson Crancer (Normal West, 2026) and SS/RHP Lucas Simulick (Joliet Catholic, 2026) helped cap off the big inning. Ian Kelly came up big early in the game with an RBI single to put Illinois ahead 2-0 in the top of the fourth, while Simulick added one more in the fifth with an RBI double, his second of the day.
