With the end of the showcase season, fall baseball wrapped up, the World Series now behind us, we're heading into the true offseason. He stands in an athletic, 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame with long levers and a high waist. He works a shorter arm path with clear quickness out front, sitting 86-87 mph in this look with mostly straight actions. He spins his slider well (avg. 2391 rpm) with tight, sharp action at times, and he rounded out his mix with a mid-70s changeup that worked with fade. Currently ranked No. 123 in the state, he looks to have added some strength to his already athletic 5-foot-10, 158-pound frame, though there is still plenty of room to continue to fill out. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has a balanced operation that utilizes his legs through impact, working to keep the ball on a line up the middle of the field, reaching up to 94 mph for his peak EV with an average of 88 mph. From 8/05/25: “+ RHP Matthew Rogers (Plainfield South, 2026) a lean, long-limbed, 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame and gave a loud look during his outing Tuesday afternoon. Working from the stretch only, the right-hander works with a quick, short, drop-and-drive leg kick motion. Coming for the ¾ slot, the arm works short and clean, able to add late life to the ball. Rogers showed a strong two-pitch mix; the fastball was sitting upper 80s, T91 mph, with late life, and the slider was sitting 78 mph, with short, sharp break. Throughout his outing, Rogers was reality heavy on the fastball and beating hitters with it. Inducing groundballs and powering the fastball by hitters. There’s some present strength throughout his 6-foot-4 frame, and the right-handed hitter was all over the barrel in BP with an event-best peak EV of 100 mph, averaging 87 mph with a max distance of 346’. There’s some clear intent and bat-speed through the zone with Scott as he looked to elevate to his pull-side, reaching up to 78.3 mph for his bat-speed (70 mph avg.) - also reaching up to 24 mph for his hand-speed (22 mph avg.).”

Presenting a narrow, athletic with a short & simple stride, Brent would show athletic hands and a present for the barrel. Took a quality round of batting practice, produced a max exit velocity of 102.1 mph and an average of 95.2 mph. Also showed athletic tools that consistently showed well throughout the event. Produced a 6.67-second 60-yard dash and a 28 inch vertical jump. Athletic 5-foot-11, 183-pound frame.”

Landon Clements SS / 2B / McHenry, IL / 2027

Illinois-Chicago Commit

From 2/19/25: “An upside sophomore that stood out on the day was MIF Landon Clements (McHenry, 2027). Standing in at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds, Clements has a lean, high-waisted frame that still holds plenty of room to fill out. From 8/05/25: “+ RHP Colin Doyle (Downers Grove North, 2026) is an imposing, long-limbed, 6-foot-7, 215-pound frame, and he showed why he has one of the highest ceilings in the 2026 class. The right-hander on the mound is a loose, easy mover, working on a line with a drop and drive motion. The arm works loose and quick, with full-circle arm action from a lower ¾ slot. Showcasing a three-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 86-88 mph, easy out of the hand, with 18.6 IVB and slight cut with 4.8 inches of horizontal movement. The slider was 72-74 mph, a gyro profile with 2400 RPMs. The changeup was 80-81 mph with arm-side run, dropping of from the fastball. In-game, Doyle showed some command struggles, but was able to find himself deeper into his outing, pounding the zone with fastballs.”

Ryan Wilberding C / OF / Libertyville, IL / 2027

Marshall Commit

From 6/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: C Ryan Wilberding (Libertyville) is another physical right-handed bat to follow this week, and he’s currently the No. 18 ranked player in the state. He has a strong build at 6-foot, 203-pounds, boasting rounded shoulders and a developed lower-half. The hit tool is very prominent with Wilberding, and that was on full display in BP with a peak EV of 101.1 mph, averaging 91.6 mph with length through the zone and loose wrists. He has quality catch/throw from behind the plate, topping at 82 mph with a pop-time of 1.90. GAMEPLAY: Wilberding showed well defensively and should be a backstop to follow moving forward. He works to present pitches around the zone for strikes with soft hands, and the arm-strength really stands out in-game with life and carry. Though he didn’t have much to show for it this week, the bat has long been a performer in-game with extra-base power.”
